MY FIRST BLOG POST

Although several people have insisted that I start a blog, it wasn't until I had an innocent meeting with one of my clients from my very first Media Mavericks Masters class.

LaKeisha owns a digital marketing company called Elevate Digital Media and we met tonight just to discuss making my website flow better and give me a crash course in SEO.

Somehow, she side-eyed, rolled her eyes, and gave me plenty of "girl please's" that guilted me into finally starting a blog.

I'll be honest with you. 

Although I'm the queen of long Facebook posts, which LaKeisha calls my "Facebook" blogs, blogging intimidates me. 

On Facebook, I can just be me, speak from my heart, crack jokes, be petty, make folks laugh and learn...without worrying about the judgment of grammar snobs and spelling sleuths.

But blogging...

Blogging feels like I have to be all official and smart and stuff.  Plus, my Facebook escapades are both media-related AND life lessons of hilarity that also inspire.  As a result, I didn't want to manage two blogs so I did no blogs.

I know...I know...it makes no sense, but welcome to the mind of TeeJ.

Anyway...

As quickly as Lakeisha gave me that, "you already write blogs on Facebook," lecture, she also broke it down in such a way that we both realized I was overthinking it!

We came up with how I can house both my media expertise and my storytelling shenanigans all right here. 

Plus, she helped me  brainstorm a workflow that will help me get over the feeling of having to be "official."

So, with that said...
